 Central Laboratories

General Information :

The Analysis Department is the largest and the most important one within the IPPI. Its equipments and instruments are extremely sophisticated and up-to-date. Its staff is experienced especially in standard testing procedures. It has eleven laboratories and two workshops:

The Spectroscopy Section
The Thermal Analysis Section
The Microscopy Section
The Chromatography Section
The Physical Properties Section
The Mechanical Properties Section
The Rheological Properties Section
The Osmometery Section
The Laser Section
The Electrical Properties Section
The X-Ray Analysis Section
The Service and Maintenance Workshop
The Glass Blowing Workshop
The major objective and scope activities of the Analysis Department are as follows:

1.To analyze polymers by instrumental and chemical methods
2.To identify various unknown polymers (Rubber, Plastics, Composites, Adhesives, ...)
3.To provide technical services to industry and implement short-time contracts
4.To run long-time projects
5.To collaborate with current projects at IPPI
6.To set up workshops for training the industrial polymer chemists and engineer specialists
7.To service and maintain all epuipments in the IPPI
